In 1989 I moved to Poulton le Fylde. By 1994 I realised that, if I was going to give every patient the sort of care I wanted to provide, I would have to move into the private sector and so that is what I did. Now I can put prevention first. I have time to explain things and answer questions. I have time to ensure that the patient is comfortable. I have time to get to know people really well and that is why we are all on first name terms.
