European Federation of Periodontology In August 1987 the first activities aiming to the creation of a platform for the co-ordination and the improvement in the field of periodontology started.During the 4th meeting in May 1990 in Maastricht, which was presided by U. van der Velden, a constitution including the rules of procedure for the EFP was put up and discussed.
