The Modernising Dentistry Programme was created following the publication of Options for Change in August 2002. The aim of the programme is to facilitate the whole system redesign of NHS primary care dental services. Allied to this are streams of work to support modernisation in dental hospitals and secondary care.

Promotes patient safety by providing confidential advice and support to the NHS in situations where the performance of doctors and dentists is giving cause for concern. Managers or practitioners themselves can contact NCAS for advice. Advice may lead to formal assessment of clinical performance or to other forms of help. A performance assessment aims to clarify concerns and make recommendations which will support managers and practitioners in resolving the concerns.

This website gives us the opportunity to reflect the changes, learning and experiences of the Options for Change field sites. All field sites within the programme have their own space to showcase the work they have done and set out their plans for the future.

Developed to provide a UK-wide source of knowledge, examples of good practice and expertise in the provision of the healthcare environment. The K&IP is a searchable source of information on the many aspects of the healthcare environment, and should be viewed in conjunction with the NHS Estates? web site, and the patientexperience.gov.uk web site.

A division of the National Patient Safety Agency (NPSA), NCAS promotes confidence in doctors and dentists by giving confidential advice and support to the NHS on how to manage doctors and dentists whose performance gives cause for concern. If a difficulty becomes apparent, the employer, contracting body or the practitioner can contact NCAS for help.

NHS Estates - Building Better Healthcare in the UK

The site shows safety alerts issued by the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency, NHS Estates, the National Patient Safety Agency and the Department of Health as well as other important information and guidance about patient and device safety.

The Information Commissioner enforces and oversees the Data Protection Act 1998 and the Freedom of Information Act 2000. The Commissioner is a UK independent supervisory authority reporting directly to the UK Parliament and has an international role as well as a national one.
