National Clinical Assessment Service Promotes patient safety by providing confidential advice and support to the NHS in situations where the performance of doctors and dentists is giving cause for concern. Managers or practitioners themselves can contact NCAS for advice. Advice may lead to formal assessment of clinical performance or to other forms of help. A performance assessment aims to clarify concerns and make recommendations which will support managers and practitioners in resolving the concerns.
